In Mongkok, Kowloon, Police attacked journalist by pepper spray. Ted Hui Chi-fung the lawmaker requested the police concerned to show his number or identity however in vain. Hong Kong Police also suppressed freedom of press by pushing and pointing flashlights at journalists.

在2019年8月31日晚上 10 時 45 分，有示威者與市民太子站列車車廂往發生爭執，雙方推撞及擲物，列車停駛。約十分鐘後，多名警方速龍成員及防暴警察衝入太子站往中環月台及列車，以警棍不停毆打車廂內示威者、市民，有戴口罩、穿白衣的市民一度跪地要求警察停止，但警繼續施放胡椒噴霧，並在月台上拘捕多名示威者。

當記者在香港島中環拍攝一群防暴警察，雖然沒有記者在該路段沒有擋路,但防暴警察仍向記者大喊和要求他們不擋路。 並在沒有口頭警告或警告標誌的情況下，直接向近距離的一名記者噴了胡椒粉。

防暴警察在自身安全明顯未有威脅的情況下，走上建築物高空處向示威者開槍，五分鐘內發射多發橡膠子彈或布袋彈。這涉嫌違反《公安條例》第17條中，表明警務人員在阻止公眾聚集舉行，或停止或解散公眾聚集時，只可以使用「合理所需的武力」。而過份武力對待被拘捕人士，在沒有合理辨解下，亦可能違反《侵害人身罪條例》各條。
